About the Club

The Afro-American Club of Citrus County is a A 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1989 with 16 members. The club awards over $12,000 in scholarships to graduation high school seniors each year. Scholarships of $500 to $1,000 are also awarded to current college students and adults pursuing a degree who demonstrate financial need each year.

We participate in community events throughout the year, including assisting and supporting other civic organizations with their events. If you are interested in partnering for an event or volunteering, please visit our Get Involved page.

Purpose

To award scholarships or financial assistance to students who qualify under the criteria of the education committee.
To provide assistance for the needy in the community.
To take an active interest in the social, moral, and cultural welfare of the community and to provide leadership and financial support whenever possible.
